Doug Ackerman
Vice President, Supplier Quality Boeing Commercial Airplanes
Doug Ackerman is the Vice President of Supplier Quality for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. He leads a global organization chartered to assure that the supply chain provides the highest quality products and services.
Before taking this role in 2020, Ackerman served as director of Engineering for BCA Supply Chain where he led engineering to resolutions of technical issues, drove continuous quality and cost improvement of supplied parts, and coordinating activities between the Engineering and Supply Chain functions.
In 2019, Ackerman led Interior Supply Chain Strategy in Supply Chain where he developed and aligned supply chain strategy for airplane interiors, including seats, across Boeing’s commercial airplane programs the Enterprise. He previously served as the 777 Airplane Level Integration chief engineer leading the Customer Engineering, Liaison Engineering and Airplane Safety, Certification and Performance organizations in airplane configuration and certification strategy, airplane performance analysis, and production issue resolution. In this role, he worked closely with key customers in resolving airplane configuration, supplier and delivery issues.
Since joining Boeing in 1990, Ackerman has held many positions in Interiors Engineering including 777 Interiors chief engineer and leading new interior development on the 767-400, 777-300ER, and 747-8 programs. In these roles he worked closely with customers, suppliers and across internal organizations to address customer needs. Additionally, he developed new interior concepts and interior business strategies in Product Development and holds a patent on integrating systems and interior commodities.
Ackerman holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington and completed the Stanford Executive Program.
