Daniel Sweeney
Chief Technology Officer
Dan Sweeney is the Chief Technology Officer of SAE International. He is responsible for supporting the Organization's strategic goals through excellence in product development, data maximization and business infrastructure.
Dan’s has spent more than 25 years in the design and development of commercial products, ranging from medical devices for people with disabilities to logistics optimization in warehouse settings to data-fueled clinical applications for surgeons. He brings a commitment to people, rigor and transparency to all of his work.
Dan has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Yale University and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (summa cum laude) from the University of Pittsburgh. He served for two years in the United States Peace Corps, where he taught Physics and Math in Cameroon, Africa. He is a member of the Board of Directors for The Union Project, a Pittsburgh non-profit using the arts to bridge gaps between communities.
