On November 20, 2025, the MedTech industry will gather in Washington, DC for the Sterilization Industry Roundtable Meeting, a strategic forum focused on advancing sterilization oversight and strengthening the global MedAccred Sterilization audit and accreditation program.

Organized by the Performance Review Institute (PRI), this high-impact meeting will bring together executives and experts from OEMs, Contract Sterilizers, FDA, Notified Bodies, and industry associations to align on the future of sterilization oversight across the medical device sector.

• Evaluation of the MedAccred Sterilization program and its value to the MedTech industry
• Identification of barriers to broader adoption of MedAccred Sterilization audits
• Development of a unified path forward for industry-wide sterilization oversight

Over the past decade, leading MedTech companies have collaborated to build the MedAccred Sterilization program, yielding measurable improvements in:

• Audit rigor and consistency through sterilization SMEs
• Process control and capability at Contract Sterilizers
• Cost efficiency, resource optimization, and speed to market
• Reduction in customer audits and increased Notified Body acceptance

In support of the program’s rigor and effectiveness, the Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC) conducted a Pilot Study with participation from FDA and industry stakeholders. The study concluded that “annual MedAccred Sterilization audits provide sustained oversight and adequate information that can be leveraged for regulatory purposes by the medical technology industry and regulators.”
