The Science and Application of Plating helps attendees understand the science and application of plating used to modify and enhance surface properties and performance. Topics include plating chemistry and processes, process components and yield, impacts of incorrect processing, diagnosis and correction of processes, process operator performance, pre-treatment and post-treatment, and racking and masking. Also covered are written documentation, cleaning, process-operator observation, rinsing systems and results, and water break tests.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, you will be able to:

  • Provide responsible parties the tools to understand the processes required for a “zero defect” end.
  • Explain the relationships in all steps of the plating process.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of lot and periodic tests.
  • Explain the significance of sampling plans.
  • Describe pre-treatment and post-treatment steps.

Who Should Attend

Any person new to or currently involved with the plating process will benefit from this course.
