Pyrometry Essentials introduces the essential features of a pyrometry system in aerospace.  Topics include the need for and basics of furnace classification, sensors, instrumentation, system accuracy tests, temperature uniformity surveys, as well as minimum reporting requirements and typical errors and problems found during Nadcap audits. This is not a substitute for the detailed training in Introduction to Pyrometry. 

Learning Objectives 

By the end of this training, you will be able to: 

  • Describe the requirements for pyrometric controls on aerospace furnaces used for heat treatment.  
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of AMS2750 and the interpretations of the Nadcap Heat Treatment Task Group.  

Note: Participants should bring a copy of AMS2750 to the class session for reference.

Any person who is requires a basic overview of pyrometry, including but not limited to service providers, quality managers, and quality engineers, will benefit from this course.
