Penetrant: Process Owner helps process owners improve their skills and competencies in the aerospace workforce. Topics include an introduction to nondestructive testing (NDT), NDT control, the role of the NDT Level 3, NDT personnel qualification and certification, and calibration and process control. Also covered are customer requirements, liaison with other functions, product awareness, and written instructions. 

Learning Objectives 

By the end of this training, you will be able to: 

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of processing parts, documenting test results, and performing equipment standardization.  
• Conduct preparation of parts before and/or after the inspection process.  
• Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the standards.  
• Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control NDT method(s).  
• Describe the technical responsibilities of an NDT Level 3 for facility and personnel.  
• Select a method and technique for a specific inspection.  
• Create, verify, and approve the technical adequacy of procedures and work instructions for NDT-related documents. 
• Conduct performance reviews of NDT personnel and NDT technical audits.

Process owners who are capable of writing, reviewing, and approving processes, procedures, and qualifications of lower levels, as well as designing new processes and resolving issues among all other levels, will benefit from this course.
