Heat Treatment of Aluminum Alloys is one of a series of courses giving underlying knowledge for heat treatment. This course extends earlier general courses on basic metallurgy and heat treatment to cover the special aspects of aluminum alloys. Topics include aluminum alloy basics, common alloys, aluminum alloy treatments, precipitation and aging, limitations to use, testing, and special considerations including Nadcap requirements.  

Learning Objectives 

By the end of this training, you will be able to: 

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of heat treatment of aluminum alloys. 
  • Describe the effects of heat treatment on common alloys. 
  • Describe Nadcap requirements for heat treatment of aluminum alloys. 

Who Should Attend 

Any person who is actively involved with or associated with aluminum alloys will benefit from this course. Participants must have knowledge of Basic Metallurgy of Heat Treatments and Basic Heat Treatment.
