Heat Treating: Process Planner

Heat Treatment Process Planner helps process planners improve their skills and competencies in the aerospace workforce. Topics include an introduction to heat treatment, basic metallurgy, alloy types and issues, special treatments, furnaces and equipment, interpreting specifications, flow down of information and content of instructions, and managing records. 

Learning Objectives  

By the end of this training, you will be able to: 

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of heat treatment metallurgy.  
  • Describe the fundamentals of pyrometry and other required controls. 
  • Recognize AMS2750 standards.  
  • Specify required heat treatment and related operations. 
  • Specify and maintain shop floor paperwork.

Process planners who are responsible for selecting manufacturing processes, interpreting procedures to conform to customer specifications and day-to-day supervision of heat treatment processes will benefit from this course.
