korea aerospace industries, ltd. becomes Nadcap® Program Subscriber
Korea Aerospace Industries, ltd (KAI) has become a subscribing member of the Nadcap accreditation program. Nadcap Subscribers are aerospace prime contractors who have demonstrated design authority and control over supplier quality throughout their organization.
KAI is a total solution provider within aerospace, with a focus on national aviation and security industries. It is known for successful development of the KT-1 Basic Trainer, T-50 Advanced Jet trainer, FA-50 Light Combat Aircraft, KUH-1 Utility Helicopter and RQ-101 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. It is currently developing the KF-21 jet fighter, and LAH helicopter program. In addition, KAI is extending its scope to space business by participating in development of Korea Multi-Purpose Satellites, Compact Advanced Satellite 500, and Defense Satellite, as well as the Korea Space Launch Vehicle.
The Nadcap program, which KAI is joining, is the aerospace industry-managed approach to conformity assessment that brings together technical experts from both industry and government to set requirements for accreditation, accredit suppliers, and define operational program requirements in aerospace. It was created, and is managed, by aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to provide supply chain quality oversight and ensure regulatory compliance. It began in 1990 and is administered by the Performance Review Institute (PRI).
