The Nadcap® Additive Manufacturing (AM) Task Group (TG) officially started in June 2023, and had its first 3 day TG meeting in October 2023. It was formed at the request of several Nadcap® Subscribers to ensure that all current and future AM Audit Criteria are developed by AM experts from Subscribers and Suppliers.
There are seven standard AM process categories as defined in ISO/ASTM 52900 Standard Terminology for Additive Manufacturing, and the AM TG initially focused on the metallic Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) and Direct Energy Deposition (DED) processes. Laser and electron beam PBF technology was previously controlled through the Welding Task Group using Audit Criteria AC7110/14 with suppliers in the UK, USA, Canada, India, Taiwan, Germany, Italy and Switzerland accredited to the process. The AM TG has taken over this Audit Criteria under the new number of AC7131/1, and has significantly revised this document, and the core AC7131 document through the balloting process for future PBF audits starting in August 2025.View our "How to Get Started" page and walk through the necessary steps you'll need to take and get resources or create an EAN account to request a quote.
