Human Resources Business Parter

Colleen Schaefer serves as Human Resources Business Partner for the Performance Review Institute® (PRI℠), based in Warrendale, PA. She partners with senior leaders to translate business objectives into people strategies that strengthen organizational effectiveness, talent quality, and workforce performance.

Colleen's career began in customer-facing sales in the telecommunications industry, where she built a foundation in understanding what motivates people and communicating across different perspectives. She then spent more than a decade in higher education, advancing through increasingly senior HR roles, including Human Resources Manager, supporting leaders through growth, restructuring, and organizational change. As a Senior Consultant with J.L. Nick & Associates, Inc., she helped clients modernize HR policies, technology, and talent strategy. She first worked with PRI as a consultant before joining the organization full time.

At PRI, Colleen uses her 15+ years of HR experience to advise leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, talent management, and change initiatives, collaborating with the HR team to deliver solutions tailored to each business unit. Her approach combines workforce data with practical judgment, helping leaders make informed decisions that support both people and performance. She is committed to building an inclusive culture where employees are engaged, supported, and equipped to grow.

Colleen is guided by a simple philosophy: be curious, not critical. Outside of PRI, she is a dedicated community leader, serving as an elected councilwoman in Etna, PA and volunteering for many years in support of health-related causes, women's leadership, and animal welfare.

Colleen holds a B.S. in Science from the Pennsylvania State University.
